Encouragement, Consequences, Honor and Respect

A research-based, culturally sensitive parenting education program

The Challenge

Haitian parents navigating profound cultural shifts deserve guidance that honors their heritage while equipping them for success wherever they live. Generations of domination have shaped family dynamics in ways that do not serve their adaption in the democratic societies where they migrate, nor do they facilitate the emergence of democracy in their own country. Too often, mainstream programs overlook their cultural realities, leaving parents misunderstood, unsupported, and unsure how to discipline with confidence. AKOR Parenting offers a research‑based, culturally grounded approach that restores dignity, strengthens families, and creates lasting change in their communities.
